Frequently Asked Questions

How long does it take to find a place to live?

It can take up to six weeks to find housing.

Is it possible to find accommodation before arriving?

This is not impossible. However, landlords and/or neighbors in a WG apartment often insist on meeting in person, getting to know each other, and viewing the home.

How much does it cost to rent a place to live?

Rental prices vary greatly from city to city and depend on the neighborhood, type of housing, and quality of construction. It is worth considering that furnished housing will cost more than average market prices.

Can I set my own criteria for the search?

Yes, we will focus on your request when selecting a home. The selection of options is based on current prices and market conditions in a particular city. Before the search, we will discuss the search criteria and assess the realism of your request.

What documents do I need to find a place to live?

To find accommodation we will need: a copy of your passport, proof of funding (block account, parental income statements, Bürgschaft (informal receipt from a German resident with income attached)), a questionnaire about you and your interests, an invitation to study/language course.

What additional costs will be incurred at check-in?

You will have to pay a deposit when you move into your new home. This is often double the rent.
