The short answer is: most of the time no. In most public universities in Germany, the SAT is not a compulsory exam. But there are some programs where it is required:
- Mechanical Engineering at Karlsruher Institut für Technologie (KIT)
- Data Science at KU Eichstätt-Ingolstadt
- Computer Science at Universität des Saarlandes
- Data Science and AI at Universität Bayreuth
An alternative to the SAT is the TestAS. This is a standardized test for international students that is often accepted by German universities as an indicator of academic readiness.
